Celebrate Case Traditions
Housed in New Student and Parent Programs, these fun events range from dances to comedians to concerts, and are an opportunity for the entire Case community to come together prior to the start of classes. Student groups such as USG, UPB, RHA, IFC and Panhellenic Council participate by bringing entertainment that welcomes both new and current students back to campus.
Welcome Days 2008 is August 20-24, 2008!
The first full weekend in November, Case invites families to campus for a weekend of entertainment, education, and fun! Planned events include excursions to unique Cleveland attractions, on-campus entertainment, athletic events, mini-colleges by favorite professors, the annual President's Reception, and more.
Family Weekend 2008 is November 7-8, 2008!
This tradition is a time for both alumni to return to campus but also to celebrate the spirit of being a member of the Case Western Reserve University community. Athletic events, pep rallies, and a parade highlight this exciting weekend.
Homecoming 2008 "Spartan Paradise" will take place October 3-4, 2008!
Held in late October, this annual tradition brings the entire Case community (faculty, staff, students and alumni) and their families together at Squire Valleevue Farm for a night of food, music, hayrides, pumpkins and so much more.
Snow Ball Semi-Formal
This Spring formal dance features food, dancing, and a fashion show. It serves as the Class Officers' philanthropy event for the year.
Thwing Center is the heart of student life at Case! Developed by the staff and students who work in Thwing, programs such as Study Over, Tuesday Tasters, St. Patrick's Day Party, Mardi Gras Celebration and Atrium Hours, feature talented students and help create a buzz in the building and add to the aura of student life. UPB also provides programming for all students every Tuesday afternoon from noon to 1 p.m. in the atrium.

Hudson Relays
This fun 26-mile footrace commemorates Western Reserve College's 1882 move from Hudson, Ohio, to University Circle. It features student, faculty, and alumni teams. The first race was held in 1910 and started at Western Reserve College in Hudson and finished at Adelbert Rocks behind Adelbert Hall. In 1990, due to safety and traffic concerns, the race changed to 26 miles around the campus and University Circle.

Springfest, which occurs the last Saturday of the spring semester, is a student planned event that serves as a day to celebrate Case and foster campus unity. The tradition is going strong with inflatable attractions, novelty games, student organization booths, and great food. Throughout the day you will hear local bands, followed by a national headliner, who entertains thousands of Case students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends!

One of our most popular events on campus, the Thwing Study Over offers students a chance to break away from all the books, papers and last-minute assignments. Held in both the fall and spring semesters just before finals week, students converge on Thwing Center for free food, massages, entertainment, giveaways, and group study sessions.
