Leadership Opportunities: Student Activities & Leadership
The Office of Student Activities & Leadership supports the Case Leadership Journey by giving Case students various opportunities for involvement in the Case community and leadership development through intentional programs and student organizations.

The Emerging Leaders Program is the first phase of the Case Leadership Journey and the only leadership program geared specifically for first-year students at Case. The goal of the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is to give the first-year Case Western Reserve University student the opportunity to develop a foundation of leadership skills by providing the knowledge and experiences essential for lifelong leadership engagement.

This two-day event is offered directly before classes begin in August. The purpose is to combine exploration of the academic and leadership experiences of Case second-year students. All participants will gain an understanding of themselves, connections with the Case community, interaction with faculty and administrators, and opportunities to socialize with fellow second-year students.
(This program is offered in conjunction with Second Year Institute sponsors.)

Sponsored by the Student Leadership Journey Council (SLJC), the Leadership Journey Series consists of presentations and workshops for the emerging, engaged, and experienced leader. Participation in the series is free of charge and registration is not required. Each semester a new series of lectures, presentations, and workshops will be offered to respond to the changing needs of a student leader.

WIL-Power is a three-day institute held over fall break and specifically for women in their junior or senior standing. The program is dedicated to the accomplishment of its participants beyond their Case undergraduate experience and will do so by providing them with an understanding of women in leadership and the development of leadership skills that will foster a positive transition into the workplace.

The Student Leadership Awards were created by Dr. Dorothy Pijan in 1982 to recognize and honor Case's outstanding undergraduate student leaders. The Student Leadership Awards celebrate outstanding leaders who have served the undergraduate community with distinction. Over 20 different student leadership awards are presented during an awards ceremony in the spring.
Please take the time to review the student organizations on campus, or contact the Office of Student Activities & Leadership at 216.368.3434 for more information.
The Office of Student Activities & Leadership is home of a student organization specifically focusing on the creation and implementation of leadership initiatives for Case undergraduate students:

The Student Leadership Journey Council is the primary student voice and drive behind the implementation of Leadership Journey initiatives. The SLJC also assists in identifying, developing, creating, and implementing new leadership initiatives for Case undergraduate students.
