Phase 3: Focused Leadership

During the third phase of the Journey, Case leaders serve as an executive officer in student organizations. He or she may provide leadership on a research or group project. Skills are advanced, offering students a stronger sense of self-confidence and personal values clarification. Participants are now officially part of the network of student leaders at Case.

Learning Outcomes

During the Focused leadership phase students will:

• Intentionally advance their leadership skills
• Apply their leadership through focused involvement
• Translate involvement to career preparation
• Demonstrate a commitment to leadership

Sample Focused Leadership Opportunities

• Participate as a Resident Assistant, Supplemental Instructor, Orientation Leader, and/or Peer Tutor
• Enter the Student Turning Point Society
• Serve as an ELP mentor
• Connect with University senior administrators
• Get involved in your Greek organization
• Serve on the Academic Integrity Board
• Initiate large-scale changes at the grass-roots level
• Participate in co-ops/internships
• Present at the Fall and Winter Leadership Conferences
• Become a Career Peer
• Nominate someone for a Dr. Dorothy Pijan Student Leadership Award
