The Spartan Team

Case Western Reserve University is currently seeking undergraduate student leaders to serve on the Spartan Team. These university mascots serve at a variety of important functions and help promote the "Spartan Spirit" at Case. The team consists of The Spartan and "Spartie," a life-size plush mascot. These volunteer leadership positions are tremendously important to student life at Case!

The Spartan

One student leader will be selected to serve as The Spartan. This upper-class student should possess the following Spartan Ideals:

  • Spartan Spirit
  • Outgoing
  • Energetic
  • Positive communication skills
  • Committed to the university ideals
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Goodwill ambassador
  • Ethical leadership
  • Organization

Applications

Spartan and Spartie candidates will be required to submit an online application and engage in interviews with members of various university departments and other undergraduate students. Applications also are available from the offices of Student Activities and Leadership, Greek Life, or the Physical Education & Athletics Department.

The student selected to be the Spartan will be appointed by the University President at the Hudson Relays Ceremony on Saturday, April 28.
