Safety Officer
Sports clubs practicing off campus or in non-PE / Athletic facilities on campus shall
designate a safety officer. It is recommended that all club officers appoint a safety officer.
The duties of the safety officer include but are not limited to the following:
- Being knowledgeable of emergency procedures when an accident or injury occurs.
- Reporting incidents and submitting injury reports.
- Inspecting equipment for safety.
- Reporting safety hazards to the Sport Club Director.
- Promoting club safety.
- Verifying that participants in aquatic activities are proficient swimmers.
