Standards of Conduct
Each club within the Case Western Reserve University Club Sports Program is
undergraduate and student run, however, it operates under the administration and
guidance of the Department of Physical Education and Athletics and Division of Student
Affairs. Participants in the sport club program receive certain benefits and privileges
including use of the Case name, use of facilities and institutional funding opportunities.
To retain these benefits, club members have an obligation to conduct themselves and
their organization in accordance with the University’s philosophy and function as an
educational institution. Each club member is responsible for the knowledge of, and
adherence to, the policies set forth in this manual and the Case Undergraduate Student
Handbook (available online ).
Failure to comply with the minimal requirements set forth in this manual may result in the
following disciplinary measures: verbal warnings, written warnings, loss of travel
privileges, forfeiture of travel reimbursement privileges, fines, loss of field and facility
usage, loss of good standing status, probation, suspension, or revocation of university
recognition, as determined by the appropriate administrator(s).
If the Department of Physical Education and Athletics and/or Sports Club Director learn of
conduct requiring disciplinary action, the club and/or club individuals involved in the
incident will meet with the Sport Club Director to discuss the incident, any disciplinary
action and any additional issues. Club participants may be referred to the Office of
Student Affairs for judicial action.
