Eligibility and Other Information
Eligibility
All currently enrolled students at Case are eligible for summer softball. Each player may be listed on one
roster only. Check with the intramural office for specific eligibility rules.

Equipment
No metal cleats or spikes are permitted. Rubber or nylon cleated shoes are permitted. Any team playing with metal cleats or metal tip shoes will forfeit the game. Game balls, bats, and bases will be supplied. Each team must supply their own gloves. A 12" standard softball may be used for league play.
Equipment Pickup & Return
The responsible team for acquiring and returning all equipment from the Veale Center issue room is designated on the summer softball schedule as the HOME team. The Home team is the first team listed on the schedule. (For example, if teams 5-6 are playing, the home team is team #5). If multiple games are scheduled to be played on a given day, the last home team listed to play is responsible for the return of the equipment to the issue room at the end of the evening.
Teams
Teams consist of 10 players. A game may be started with as few as eight players. Teams shall be composed of seven male players and three female players. A game may be started with as few as eight players (6 males and two females). Teams are allowed to play more than three females in the field, if they wish.
Officials
Games shall be self-officiated. Each team shall supply an umpire to officiate their contests.
Playoffs
All teams that do not forfeit any regular season softball games will qualify for divisional playoffs.
Inclement Weather
In case of inclement weather, please call the intramural office at 216.368.3874 after 3 p.m. on your game day to find out if your games have been postponed.
Rescheduling Games
There are a limited number of dates and times available for rescheduling softball games. Both team managers (or designated representatives) and game officials must have a contest rescheduling agreement form on file prior to the rescheduled date. The form must be signed by Team Manager A, Team Manager B, assigned officials, and intramural staff.
Protests
Only protests regarding player eligibility will be accepted by the intramural sports staff.
Forfeit Policy
Forfeit time is game time. The intramural staff person present shall declare game-time forfeits. If a team anticipates a forfeit, they should contact the intramural office as soon as possible.
