Why did you choose to attend Case?
When my older sister attended Case, I visited her many times to attend classes and relax with her and her friends around the campus. So, I learned a lot about Case: smaller classes, more personalized service, events every day of the week... I was excited.
How/why did you choose your major?
I took Accounting 101 my first semester and ended up really understanding and loving the subject. Our class also had a presentation from the Accounting Ambassador at the time and I saw the vast opportunities that would be open to me.
What do you look forward to about your future career plans?
What I'm looking forward to the most are the people that I will meet throughout my career. I have met many amazing faculty and staff at Case, who are all very supportive of the students and many serve as mentors. I just can't wait to start to do the same.
What advice would you give to a student in pursuit of a major, internship/practicum, full-time position or graduate school admission?
Start early. I keep hearing those words everywhere: Investing, looking for a job, or homework. It's important to start early, have a Plan B and be happy with both plans. If you don't know what you want to do yet, then experiment. If that doesn't work, then move to Plan B.
What services have you found most useful at the Career Center?
Other than the personalized, one-on-one time with Career Center staff members, the Mock Interview was one of the best things I have done. The interview helped me identify better examples to use and we also looked at my resume to emphasize the key activities on it. I still end up using some of the examples that we came up with that day during the Mock Interview.
What academic course(s) has prepared you most for your career?
Most of my business classes were great in helping me develop teamwork and networking skills. My MGMT 398, Action Learning, gave me the most hands-on experience as we were placed in teams and worked independently of the other groups as consultants to a real firm in the Cleveland Area.
What do you plan to do after graduation, and how has Case helped you reach that goal?
Although I do not yet know where to go after my Masters, I have a couple of plans in mind. I have been fortunate enough to love all of my internships and the people that I have met through them. The decision where to go next will be very hard.
