Practicum and Internship Programs
Experiential Learning is defined at Case Western Reserve University as an innovative approach to education that emphasizes hands-on experience. The Career Center coordinates and supports two primary experiential learning programs, Internship and Practicum.
Internships
We list practicum, internships, and summer opportunities in Case CareerLink, an online database accessible to Case students and alumni only.
Since 1999, the Cleveland Foundation has conducted a summer internship program that provides undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates an opporunity to work for 11 weeks in Cleveland-area nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies.
Find northeast Ohio internships posted by 17 colleges and universities. Students can self-register, upload a resume and apply for internship positions.
Summer on the Cuyahoga (SOTC) is a unique summer internship program open to students of Case, Colgate, Princeton, Smith and Yale. The program brings together 75-90 students for an intensive summer immersion program designed to help interns explore the professional, civic, and social offerings of the Cleveland area. SOTC offers students challenging internships, community introductions, alumni connections and group housing for the summer.
The Internship Series On Line or Internships-USA provides comprehensive and up-to-date information regarding internships with over 2,500 organizations nationwide. Internship descriptions, application procedures, contacts, preferred majors, salary and semesters available are all included.
The Cleveland Leadership Center is a network of college students and area professionals focused on keeping the best and brightest minds in Northeast Ohio.
Undergraduate Research
Cooperative Education (Co-op)
Full-time academic program for students in Engineering, Science, and Business.
Study Abroad
Provides opportunities for students to experience life overseas and study at a foreign university where they can earn up to 36 hours of credit.
Federal Government
Case is a member of the Call to Serve program sponsored by the Partnership for Public Service. Call to Serve is a national initiative designed to educate a new generation about the importance of a strong civil service and provides students with information about the unique and dynamic opportunities that federal internships provide.
