Fall 09: Thursday Opportunities
ESPERANZA (Commitment Program)
Unlike other Case SERVES programs, the Thursday afternoon Esperanza program is structured for students who want to commit to a semester long volunteer opportunity. This commitment will allow volunteers to develop meaningful mentorship relationships with the children and youth attending the tutoring programs at Esperanza. In addition to serving as a mentor, volunteers will also assist with homework and other academic tutoring.
The Esperanza Commitment will take place every Thursday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. throughout the fall semester. Transportation will be provided to Esperanza and back to campus. Students interesting in participating this program should contact Omar Gutierrez at jose.gutierrez@case.edu by Wednesday, September 23.
EAST END NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE
The mission of the East End Neighborhood House is to provide a caring community that supports and aids others through life's passages. There are a variety or intergenerational programs at the house from child day care services to foster grandparent programs. As a volunteer with Case SERVES, you will use your creativity to work with youth (K-6 grade) in an after-school program geared toward fun and engaging academic activities and experiments in science and math. Registered volunteers will meet at the CCEL office at 3:15 p.m. and return to campus by 6:00pm. Transportation is provided to all volunteers who register online through the CCEL event calendar. This volunteer opportunity is available every other week. Please use the links below to register for the date(s) of your choice:
