The Center for Civic Engagement and Learning works with several organizations dedicated to providing service to benefit humanity.

Alpha Phi Omega >>

Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed community service fraternity dedicated to developing leadership, fostering friendship, and performing community service.

CHOW

The goal of CHOW (Campus Health and Hunger Outreach Workforce) is to promote healthy living throughout the Cleveland area and raise health awareness at Case.

CaseEMS >>

The mission of CaseEMS is to provide quality first responder care to the students, faculty and staff of the university and to serve EMS standby for large-scale university events.

CPS Connection >>

CPS Connection is an after school program for middle school students in Cleveland's inner city schools. Their mission is to be a positive influence in young students' lives and encourage them to realize their full potential and avoid negative influences. The idea isn't to tutor these kids or prepare them for a test, but to encourage them to be curious about the world around them in a safe and controlled environment.

Engineers Without Borders >>

Engineers Without Borders is a unique organization that partners with underdeveloped communities, locally and internationally, to improve the quality of life through sustainable solutions (like water, sanitation, and energy). The group helps train the next generation of engineers to be facilitators of sustainable development, appropriate technology, and social and economic change.

Global Medical Initiative >>

Global Medical Initiative sends medical supplies to third world countries and develops leadership opportunities for those who want to become involved in global public health issues on campus.

Habitat for Humanity >>

The goal of Habitat for Humanity is to assist Greater Cleveland HFH by raising funds, supplying volunteers, and educating the campus to work toward elimination of poverty housing.

Health Care Service Leaders

The purpose of this group is to organize and participate in health care service opportunities, and provide Case students with unique experiences in the medical setting. To take students out of their normal "comfort zone" and provide them with formative experiences in the medical setting. To coordinate with other medically related student groups on campus to plan volunteer opportunities. To work with those students who truly enjoy volunteering and are most motivated to become health care service leaders who will learn how to give back to their individual communities.

Project Sunshine

Project Sunshine provides free services to hospitalized children in an effort to bring sunshine into their cloudy days. Participants help to ease the unfortunate circumstances these children encounter by promoting service and goodwill.

Student Global AIDS Campaign

The purpose and mission of the Case Western Reserve University Chapter of the SGAC is to promote awareness of and action around HIV and AIDS issues including the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria, the U.S. contribution to the fight against HIV and AIDS, access to HIV and AIDS medications, debt cancellation, comprehensive HIV prevention, and other issues. Case SGAC highly encourages community service amongst its members and provides many opportunities for direct action.

U-SHAPE >>

USHAPE (University Student Health Advocates Promoting Empowerment) is a group that focuses on empowering local Cleveland teenagers and adults by raising awareness about common health issues today. USHAPE mentors are all trained by certified Case faculty, staff, and health centers/services.
