Tutoring and Mentoring

Through the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning, undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students tutor and mentor elementary through high school pupils in classrooms and after-school programs in Cleveland and East Cleveland.  Students interested in tutoring Fall Semester should sign up for the required tutor training, Saturday, September 13. 

If you cannot attend the Fall Tutor Training, please complete an on-line application, and CCEL will contact you.

Children who READ SUCCEED!!! Be one of the keys in a young person’s success. Eligible CWRU students may utilize their work-study awards by tutoring with Project STEP-UP's AmericaReads*AmericaCounts program. It is part-time, flexible for your schedule, and FUN!

CCEL also sponsors summer literacy programs, contingent on the availability of grant funding. Information about the 2007 Summer Literacy Corps, through which Case students worked with local children to improve their reading and academic skills, may be found on the Summer Programs page.
