Emergency Information: Students in Crisis
If you find yourself in a crisis situation and feel that you cannot wait for a scheduled appointment to speak to a counselor, immediate help is available.

Urgent Counseling Care for emergency situations is available without an appointment Monday through Friday at our Sears Building location 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A counselor will be available to speak with you in person or by phone to assist you with your urgent counseling needs.
Emergencies After Hours, Weekends, and Holidays
In the event of a life-threatening emergency after hours, on weekends, or during holidays:

Residence Life/Greek Life Students may also contact the Residence Life Staff Supervisor On Call in case of a crisis or emergency:

Telephone Consultation
Consultation over the telephone is available with a staff member of UCS at 216.368.5872. When a student demonstrates or discloses thoughts of suicide or dangerous behaviors, faculty or staff may contact UCS for a consultation by calling 216.368.5872.
Some signs to watch for include profound depression, thoughts of suicide, self injury (cutting), frightening anger and/or threats of violence toward others; active anxiety attacks; cognitive confusion, incoherence, disorientation, or grandiose thoughts; or signs of excessive alcohol or drug use.
If the student is in your presence, ask for assistance from an available colleague if possible as you call for immediate help. If you need immediate assistance with an emergency, please contact UCS at 216.368.5872.

Urgent Counseling Care (Walk-In) is available to students weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at UCS in 201 Sears Building.

Assistance with Personal or Family Matters
If you are a University Employee (Faculty, Staff, or Administrator) and you need assistance with a personal or family matter, please contact the Employee Assistance Program (EASE) at 216.241.3273 or 800.521.3273. Your call will be immediately directed to counseling professionals. Staff are available and calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
