Mind-Body Connection
To feel our best, we need to
nurture both our minds and our bodies.
Our bodies respond to the way that we think, feel, and act. This is often referred to as the “Mind/Body
Connection.” For example, many people
get headaches or feel fatigued when they are under significant stress. Poor emotional health can also weaken our
immune systems. You may have noticed
that many students come down with the flu right after they finish cramming for
final exams; at times, we literally wear ourselves out! Collegiate Behavioral Health utilizes a
holistic approach to emphasize physical, emotional, and spiritual
wellness. We know that we can’t ignore
one of these areas and provide you with the best help!
In all that we do
at CBH, we will promote the importance of resilience, the process of adapting
and coping effectively with the stressors of life, such as classroom demands
and interpersonal relationships. Our
Mind/Body Clinics can help you remove specific obstacles to wellness. Currently, our clinics focus on Sleep,
Healthy Eating, Substance Use, and Anxiety and Stress Management. Call to schedule an appointment with one of
our specialists or stop by the Meditation Group on Friday afternoons. Also look
for upcoming groups and program offerings that are designed to help you adjust
to new challenges and bounce back from adverse, stressful situations. Please see the links to the left of this page
for more information about common wellness-related topics.
