- The Great American Smokeout is Thursday, November 18, a day to stop smoking for 24 hours and hopefully, for good! Want to give it a try? Find a buddy who would like to do the same and go for it. Trying to quit smoking and having trouble with it? Help is available. Dealing with Stress

Papers, exams, deadlines, commitments, relationships, parents, professors you name it. All of these, and just about everything else in our lives, can result in STRESS. Just that word alone can cause a stress response in
most people. The word itself is anxiety-provoking, even if just mildly so. But even though it is unavoidable, stress is very manageable.
Stress is the normal human 'fight or flight' response that everyone experiences to some degree when danger is perceived. Thousands of years ago, this served a very adaptive purpose in keeping us alive in the face of actual physical dangers (in fighting wild animals or running from them). However, the same responses exist in us today, but the purpose is not so adaptive any more. More
Making the Most of Your Study Time

Beep...beep...beep! It's 8 a.m. and the alarm sounds. Before you know it, you are ravenous and ready for a "bag-it" lunch on the run at 2 p.m. Yawn. You look at your watch as it reads 1:30 a.m. Where has the time gone?
This brief example may be a typical day for many college students, but it is actually time moving on. College students often report that their inability to manage their time is the biggest problem they face in college. Time management is a skill few people master well, but it is one skill that most people need. More
