Prevention & Recovery Services
Prevention & Recovery Services is a program designed to help students achieve sobriety through substance abuse prevention, education, Recovery House living, and campus-community alliances.
Our mission is to help students make a commitment to recovery, excel in scholarship, personal growth, social responsibility and ethical leadership.
Students who join PRS learn how to stay healthy and sober through a comprehensive plan. Those who participate join a select group of individuals and community members who help them achieve their goals to live a sober life. Some options include:
- Regularly attend all classes and seek advising and tutorial help to assist in a successful experience at the university
- Regularly attend campus and community meetings related to recovery
- Reside at Recovery House or use the PRS roommate matching program
- Participate in the annual Celebrate Recovery at Case event, e.g., planning meetings, promotional activities, etc.
- Assist in the PRS campus outreach education effort by presenting at a class, student organization or writing an article for the PRS Quarterly News or The Observer
- Volunteer in the Cleveland community by speaking at local high schools or participate in regional or national conferences such as the Association of Recovery Schools
- Attend up to six individual counseling sessions (UCS or community) each semester
