One Day at A Time Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by an anonymous donor in 2008 to benefit undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students of Case Western Reserve University who are in recovery from alcohol. This scholarship is offered each year by the PRS Scholarship Committee and the amount awarded depends upon annual yield of the endowment.

PRS Commitments

Applicants must be enrolled as a PRS student member* and be able to demonstrate their commitment to:

  • Sober Living
  • Excellence in Scholarship
  • Personal Growth
  • Social Responsibility
  • Ethical Leadership
Scholarship Eligibility
  • Enrolled in full-time studies (not less than 12 undergraduate credits or full-time graduate equivalents) at Case
  • Completed at least one full year (or two semesters) of studies at Case
  • Obtain a 3.0 or higher GPA (or successful academic progress) during the last two semesters prior to applying
  • Achieve at least six months of sobriety
  • Must be in good standing with univeristy academic and student conduct boards

Application Process

Applicants must complete the application and submit the following information to the PRS Scholarship Committee:

  • A personal vision statement addressing the PRS Commitments, noted above, and how they are related to and influence your present educational goals and future career aspirations.
  • Two (2) brief letters of recommendation, one from each, of the following (PRS board members excluded):
    • An individual of your choice who can attest to the quality of your recovery and personal growth
    • A faculty or staff member of Case who can speak about your commitment to academic excellence
  • Current Resume
  • Unnofficial Transcript

When completed, please hand-deliver your paperwork to:

* PRS membership is open to all Case Western Reserve University students in recovery.
