Psychology Pre-Doctoral Internship
Internship Program Description
Psychology interns will devote a minimum of 16 hours per week to clinical activities. Interns will receive individual, assessment and group supervision with a licensed psychologist as well as didactic training by senior clinical staff. Interns will participate in weekly case conferences. They will receive training in the following general clinical services:
- Intake assessment
- Individual psychotherapy/couples counseling
- Group therapy
- Consultation and crisis intervention.
- General Psychological Assessment and ADHD/Learning Disability Assessment
In addition, interns will receive training in one specialized interest area, such as eating disorders, trauma, grief and loss, process group psychotherapy and substance abuse. They also will receive training on psychoeducational programming in behavioral health and wellness, such as substance abuse prevention, stress management, sexuality, or weight and body image.
Qualifications
We seek high-energy individuals who are open to learning, receptive to feedback and motivated to develop a wide range of skills that may be requested of a psychologist. Applications from students enrolled in APA-accredited counseling and clinical psychology programs are preferred. Applicants must complete the APPIC application for psychology internships. This will include your cover letter, curriculum vitae, application form with essays, verification of readiness for internship from your academic program, all graduate transcript and three letters of recommendation. No supplemental materials are required by UCS. This internship site agrees to abide by the APPIC policy that no person at this training facility will solicit, accept or use any ranking-related information from any intern applicant.
Compensation and Benefits
