    cellphone

    hi

I am a incoming student from China, Cellphones in my country is quite different from the U.S.

Can you tell me how it works, because I heard it is paid by months?

Well, most cell phone companies offer you the choice of entering a contract and paying a certain amount each month, for a pre-set amount of minutes. The other option is to get a pre-pay plan, where there is no contract and you load your phone with money whenever you want, and there is no bill every month. Usually, on a per-minute basis, the contract option is a much better value. If you have an unlocked GSM phone from china, you can bring it over here and use T-Moble or AT&T, the major GSM networks in the US.

As a Case student, you can get a discount on a Sprint phone and service, so if you haven't decided yet, you might want to look into it.

You can also get a discount on AT&T service as well, although that isn't as well-advertised as our Sprint discount. In order to get to the AT&T discount, I'm almost certain you have to visit an AT&T corporate store (there's one on Mayfield) to get a form that you then fax in later. The discount is 15% off your voice plan.
