The departments of the Division of Student Affairs meet the academic and co-curricular needs of Case students and the university. The office provides leadership in the development of services and programs that enrich student life, extend and enhance the academic experience, and contribute to an environment that encourages personal growth and development.

The Career Center offers individualized assistance to students and alumni who want to develop lifelong career management skills and work experience that will help them meet their academic and career goals. In addition to general career fairs, resume assistance and workshops, office staff can assist in scheduling mock interviews with employers and provide access to specialized job postings.

The Center for Civic Engagement and Learning promotes opportunities for students through service to the community. The center maintains a comprehensive database of community-based work-study programs and coordinates neighborhood service projects for students. Programs focus on inner-city youth, the environment, homelessness, the elderly, and more.

Educational Enhancement Programs is a unique cluster of Student Affairs departments that includes Educational Services for Students (ESS), the Center for Civic Engagement and Learning (CCEL), New Student and Parent Programs, and the Share the Vision campaign. The group promotes academics, as well as campus and community engagement.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs serves as an umbrella organization to address the diverse needs of students and enhance the harmony of the multi-ethnic community through the mutual acceptance of all individuals. Unique cultural programs for African Americans, Latinos/Hispanics, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders are held throughout the year.

The Department of Physical Education and Athletics helps students develop fitness and lifetime sports skills. The activities in intramural, open recreation, wellness and sport club programs are designed to enhance the quality of life for students of all levels. Participants may compete in athletics and demonstrate leadership while involved in team activities.

The Office of Student Activities and Leadership provides a variety of programs, events, organizations, and leadership opportunities. Students can participate in a number of traditional programs or join any number of groups, including the Student Executive Council, University Program Board, Undergraduate Student Government, and Graduate Student Senate.

Thwing Center provides a hub of activity at Case Western Reserve, including a restaurant, snack bar and ballroom. The Thwing Center staff coordinates a wide range of events for undergraduate student organizations and university-sponsored programs. The postal substation, campus bookstore, Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, and Rock Bottom Commuter Lounge also are located in Thwing.

The Office of TRIO oversees academic assistance programs for youth who reside in Cleveland and nearby communities. Upward Bound helps prepare low-income high school students for successful postsecondary studies. Students also receive counseling and advising, college planning and placement assistance, community services opportunities, and much more.

University Counseling Services (UCS) offers wellness programs, psychiatric services, and prevention and recovery service programs. Psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, counselors and doctoral-level counseling trainees are all part of a student's support network. Clinics on healthy sleep, meditation, anxiety and stress management also are available on a regular basis.

University Health Service (UHS) provides healthcare for students on an emergency and non-emergency basis. The office provides support from physicians, nurses, psychiatrists and social workers. It also offers specialty clinics for skin, dermatology, allergies, and women's health, and coordinates the Student Medical Plan with Aetna Student Health.
