The Rock Bottom Lounge
The Rock Bottom Lounge, located on the foundation level of Thwing Center West, offers commuters a place to socialize and study. Just like home, the lounge is divided into a variety of living areas including a TV room, a game room with a Ping-Pong table and pool table, a study room where walk-in tutoring is held, and a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, and refrigerator.

The lounge also has a phone for local and campus phone calls, and a computer to check e-mail or access the software library. Equipment use is based on a first-come-first-served basis, and students are asked to limit their use since machines are shared.
The Office of Commuter Services and the Commuter Club also are located in the lounge, and events and activities are frequently hosted there. Restrooms are located above the lounge on the first floor of Thwing Center.
Access to the Lounge
Students must use their ID/swipe cards to enter the lounge. New commuter students and those students experiencing problems accessing the lounge can obtain card access by stopping by the office of Educational Services for Students in 470 Sears Building, Monday though Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please contact Martina Croft, ESS Office Manager, for more information.
During the fall and spring semesters, the lounge is open Monday through Sunday.
Lockers
The lounge contains 50 lockers. Students can sign up for a locker the first three days of the fall and spring semesters. Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board outside the lounge office.
Students will be assigned to a locker and will be asked to sign a locker contract. Locker contents and locks must be emptied by the last day of each semester. Unclaimed locks and the contents of those lockers will be removed. Those students not complying with the locker contract will be asked to provide a $20 deposit for all subsequent locker use. Day lockers also are available at the entrances to Kelvin Smith Library and the University Bookstore.
Lounge Equipment
Lounge equipment is shared by all commuters. Please be courteous to others by taking care of the equipment. Equipment that is broken or lost will not be replaced until the following semester.
Guests
Commuters may bring Case residential students and off-campus guests to the lounge, but they are expected to remain in the lounge with their guests. Guests are responsible for any damage they incur while using the lounge.
