&lt;/p&gt;</description><pubDate>Tue, 10 Jun 2008 10:34:00 -0400</pubDate></item><item><guid isPermaLink="true">http://studentaffairs.case.edu/education/events/2792.calx</guid><link>http://studentaffairs.case.edu/education/events/2792.calx</link><title>ESS Tip of the Week - Small wins</title><description>&lt;p&gt;After four years at Case, I have finally gotten a better handle on using small wins for homework.  I had always hear about this concept being used in leadership training, but I had never thought about using it with my homework.  &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;One of the best study tips is to start early on your work.  I f you have a paper, then take 30 minutes to start writing anything, whether it is the first paragraph of just a rough outline.  Do this for all your homework.  If any questions come up, immediately email the professor or ask another student.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Plan for these short sessions, and your small win comes with having done just one paragraph, one problem, or one short reading assignment.  Put a lot of these together, and you will have fewer stressful nights because you've produced a steady stream of work.  Practice small wins in and out of academics, and  you will be successful.    -Valbona Bushi (Class of 2008/Accounting) &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Valbona's tip can be found on page 1 of &lt;em&gt;Just InCase&lt;/em&gt;.  For more tips like Valbona's go to &lt;em&gt;Just InCase&lt;/em&gt; at &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="/education/resources/justincase/study/wins.html"&gt;
