Try Different Study Spaces
By Kristie Adianti, Biology and Chemistry, Class of 2009
Sometimes, I find it hard to concentrate and get work done in my room, so I try to be creative about finding quiet study spaces around campus.
KSL has quiet rooms that offer privacy. The study booths are also great for productivity. For upperclassmen, don't forget about the Village study rooms. I also like going to Arabica (on Northside) and even the Starbucks on Cedar. There are many quiet study spaces on the quad in Nord, Sears, Wickenden, and Crawford. If your classes are on the Mather Quad, Thwing has many study rooms available that you can use during the day. Finally, keep in mind that sometimes you can find a good place unexpectedly when walking around campus.
Going away from your room is a good idea to get rid of unavoidable distractions like loud room/floormates, FACEBOOK, and your comfy bed. Plus, it's always beneficial to burn a few calories when walking to that special study niche.
