Go the Extra Mile

Always do the things that nobody else is willing to do. You'll hear so many people say, "It's not worth doing that," or "that won't be on the test," or "that's a pain, I'm not going to do that."
The people who go beyond what they think is expected of them are the people who excel. For example, pick random problems out of the book and try them. Few are willing to do that. Go out of your way to really get to know the professor. And most of all, READ the book. And not just once, maybe twice or even three times. Go down the path nobody else wants to take.
