Prioritizing

By Mitch Cooper, Biomedical Engineering, Class of 2009

Photo of Mitch CooperBeing involved at Case is a great thing; however, as an engineering student, I have found myself with weeks where I just can't get everything done on time, because I am just overwhelmed with things to do. Two tips of advice:

  1. Don't over-commit yourself! Balance your schedule and be realistic.
  2. If you find yourself in a situation where you just can't get everything done, look over how much each assignment for your week is worth as a part of your final grade in each course. Do the ones that are most important first and on time, and turn in lesser assignments late. Also, talk to your professors. Some will let you turn in parts of the assignment on time for full credit and then other parts of it late for partial credit — a great help!
