Thursday, October 15
Spirit Banner Contest & Painting Party

Time: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Thwing Center Atrium

Students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to join the class officers in celebrating our school pride by creating a spirit banner. Materials will be provided and pizza will be served. The organization/department that wins the banner contest will be awarded a pizza party.  Winners will be announced at the SpiritFest!

Monday, October 19
Office/Department/Residence Hall Floor Decorating Contest

Show your Spartan Spirit by decorating your space in blue and white or choose a decade to correspond to the theme "Spartans Through the Decades" in honor of Homecoming 2009.  All participants should e-mail Colleen Barker-Williamson by Friday, October 16 to be entered into the decorating contest for a chance to win a pizza party for up to 25 at the Jolly Scholar.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate!

Wednesday, October 21
Office/Department/Residence Hall Floor Decorating Contest Judging

Enter your office/department/hall with the Student Activities office (e-mail colleen.barker-williamson@case.edu) by Friday, October 16 to be eligible for the contest. The most spirited office/department/hall will win a pizza party for up to 25 provided by the Jolly Scholar and a trophy (donated by last year's winner, the Office of Annual Giving).

Homecoming Spot Night

Time: 9:30 p.m. – 12 midnight
Location: The Spot
Host: The Spot and UPB

Students are encouraged to celebrate the kick-off of Homecoming Weekend at The Spot where there will be live music playing.  Stop by and meet the Homecoming candidates while snacking on wings.

Thursday, October 22
Powder Puff Football Game

Time: 9 p.m.
Location: CWRU Stadium
Host: The Class Officer Collective

An emerging tradition at Case Western Reserve University, the Powder Puff Football Game brings junior and senior girls together to battle on the field while boys from the respective classes cheer them on. During halftime, there will be competitions between the freshmen and sophomore classes and we will announce the Homecoming Court.

Friday, October 23
Spartan SpiritFest

Time: 12:30 – 2 p.m.
Location: Thwing Center Atrium

Stop by Thwing and snack on some food while listening to music from the decades.  We will be announcing the Homecoming Court, the winning Powder Puff team, and the banner/office/department decorating contest winners! Come early to receive a blue and white give-away!

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend! 

Greek Alumni Mixer

Time: 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Location: The Spot

Before going to the CWRU Blue and White Bash head on over to The Spot!  Don’t miss your opportunity to reconnect with Greek alumni and current Greek students. 

LGBT Alumni Reunion Welcome Reception

Time: 6 to 8 p.m.

Location: The Alumni House, 11310 Juniper Rd.

Join fellow Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgendered (LGBT) alumni, faculty, students, and staff for a welcome reception at the Case Western Reserve University Alumni House.

Shabbat Services and Dinner

Time: 6:00 - 8:30 P.M.

Location: Cleveland Hillel Foundation 11291 Euclid Ave.  

Students, Alumni, Faculty, Staff, and Friends are invited to join in the weekly Shabbat services and dinner sponsored by the Cleveland Hillel Foundation.  Traditional Egalitarian and Reform services start at 6:00 P.M. and are followed by Shabbat dinner at 7:00 P.M.  For more information and/or to RSVP for one or both please contact Gary Coleman gcoleman@clevelandhillel.org or 216-231-0040

CWRU Blue and White Bash

Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Adelbert Gym

This celebration combines music, dancing, amazing food, and 400 of your closest friends. Be sure to start thinking about your Blue and White attire now — it will will be worth the effort!

All alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to attend the CWRU Blue and White Bash!

Saturday, October 24
Homecoming 5K Race

Time: Registration 7:30 a.m. Race begins at 8:30 a.m.

All alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the university are invited to participate in the 5K race!

Parade

Time: 10:30 - 11 a.m.

As the parade makes its way through campus, alumni and their families are welcome to join in the fun! Former athletes are encouraged to wear their letter sweaters and walk in the parade. Sign up your organization today!  Are you looking for more information on the different decades to help with the creation of your float?  We have some ideas here!

All parade participants should be at the lot at Euclid Avenue/115th Street between 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. to receive information on their placement.  Don't want to walk in the parade? Then come out and watch!

LGBT Alumni Reunion Brunch

Time: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Location: The Alumni House, 11310 Juniper Rd.

Alumni, faculty, staff, and students are invited to gather at the lovely Alumni House to reconnect with old friends and make new connections while learning about the progress of LGBTA initiatives at CWRU. Register today!

Pre-Game Tailgate Party

Time: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: Field behind the Village at 115 Athletic Stadium (under the tent)
General Admission: $15; FREE for children under 12

Be sure to be a part of this festive tailgate party at the Case football field. Join current students and fellow alumni for a buffet lunch. There will be special appearances by the Case cheerleaders and the Spartan mascot. Make sure to stop by the stadium right after the tailgate to watch the game and support our Spartans as we battle Hiram College at 1 p.m.

Delt Caddyshack

Time: 1 - 3 p.m.

Location: Delta Tau Delta House, Behind Leutner Commons

Come join the brothers of Delta Tau Delta in their first charity event: Delt Caddyshack! The event features a 9-hole mini-golf course which runs through the first floor and around the outside of their house. Food will be available from various local restaurants. Admission is $5 per person or $17 for a four-person scramble. All proceeds go to benefit the fraternity's national charity organization, Bleed Purple, which supports college students who have been diagnosed with cancer. Prizes will be awarded on the hour, every hour, for lowest score on the course, and grand prizes for the lowest scores of the day include a Nintendo Wii, VIP passes to Jillian's, and assorted gift cards.

Homecoming Football Game

Time: 1 - 3 p.m.
Location: The Village at 115 Athletic Stadium

Don't miss this year's Homecoming Football game at our beautiful athletic stadium located at the Village at 115. Show your blue and white fever by wearing your Case gear to cheer on our Spartans against Hiram College.

All alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to attend the Homecoming Football Game.  Students, faculty and staff can enter for free with a valid Case ID.

Football Game Tailgate

Time: 1:05 - 3 p.m.
Location: Between Village Houses 1 and 3

During the game, join UPB and the Spot for a Football Tailgate. Food will be available!

CAA/CSE Oktoberfest

Time: 3 p.m.
Location: Field behind the Village at 115 Athletic Stadium (under the tent)

Join the Alumni Association for a celebration that includes authentic German music, dancing, singing, and the very best in German food and drink.

Homecoming Dance

Date: Saturday, October 24, 9:30 p.m. - Sunday, Oct 25, 1 a.m.
Location: The Velvet Dog

This year, UPB is taking the dance off campus for a nightclub feel. Join us at our private room in the Velvet Dog (W. 6th Street) for a party you won't forget. Free transportation will be provided to and from the event. Refreshments will be available!

4th Annual Stephanie Tubbs-Jones GospelFest

Time: 4 - 6 p.m.
Location: John Hay High School

Join us for the fourth annual Case Western Reserve University GospelFest. Enjoy a selection of light hors d'oeuvres and hear the best of Cleveland's gospel music scene at this soulful, uplifting event.  Shuttles will be available for students and tickets are $10.00.
