Fourth Annual 5K Race
The Homecoming schedule of events includes the fourth annual Stephanie Tubbs-Jones 5K Race. The race is a great way to connect students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community as we celebrate our rich institutional history.
The 5K Race will take place around the northside of campus in honor of Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, who embodied the spirit of community and Spartan pride. Tubbs-Jones, pictured left, served as the Homecoming parade grand marshal in 2001 and was very active in the Homecoming weekend celebration. She died in August, 2008.

Date: Saturday, September 29, 2012
Parking: Lot S-46 is closest to the course
Registration: Opens at 7:30 a.m. outside of the Starbucks at E. 115th Street. (Rain location: Wade Multipurpose Room)
Start Time: Race begins at 8:30 a.m.
Awards Presentation: Begins at 9:45 a.m. on the Village at 115 track
Shirts: All runners who pre-register will get a race t-shirt
The race will be held rain or shine. No refunds will be given.
Entry and Cost
Complete our online form if you want to participate in the race. You also can pick up a form from Student Activities and Leadership, Greek Life or the Office of Student Affairs.

- CWRU undergraduate & graduate students: $10
- Faculty/staff/alumni/community members: $15.
Registration (after Pre-Registration through day of the event): $20.
Race Proceeds
All proceeds from the Stephanie Tubbs-Jones Homecoming 5K race directly benefit a current student at Case Western Reserve. A grant will be awarded to an undergraduate student at the annual Undergraduate Honors Assembly held each year in April.
Named after respected double-alumna Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, this award is given in honor of a true Spartan. It benefits an undergraduate, underrepresented CWRU student for significant contributions to campus life, scholarship, and community service—three characteristics best demonstrated by Ms. Tubbs-Jones.

The overall top male and female will receive a trophy. Ribbons will be given to the second and third place male and female runners.
