The annual Second Year Celebration reception invites second-year undergraduate students to celebrate the "halfway point" of college. This event pays tribute to student accomplishments and achievements during the past two years and offers students an opportunity to look at what is in store on the horizon. Much like a graduation ceremony provides an opportunity for students to reflect on their entire time at Case, the Second Year Celebration allows students to reflect halfway through their journey and take an enthusiastic step past the midway point of their undergraduate career.
Hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and a sundae bar are free to all guests. Second-year students attending the celebration also will be entered into a drawing for door prizes.
Menu: Mandarin chicken spring rolls with apricot Mandarin horseradish sauce, seafood potstickers with avocado boursin bauce, spinach triangles, chocolate-covered strawberries and an ice cream sundae bar! Various beverages will also be served.
Transportation: A Greenie shuttle will be making stops in front of Adelbert Hall and Clarke Tower to take students, staff, and faculty to and from Carlton Commons. The shuttle will be running continuously from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Parking: Guests are encouraged to use the Greenie shuttle, but parking is available in Lot 44 for those who prefer to drive.
Directions: Carlton Commons is located in the South Residential Village or "Top of the Hill," adjacent to Glaser, Michelson and Kusch residence halls. From the Case Quad, walk south on Adelbert Road across the Adelbert bridge. Once across the bridge, cross Murray Hill Road and walk along the sidewalk. Just past Fribley Commons on your right, you will see a large set of yellow stairs (also known as the "elephant stairs"). Walk up the 88 steps until you reach the top. Carlton Commons will be on your right-hand side. View the map for more information.
