Main Barn

The Main Barn complex is the largest building located at the main entrance of the Squire Valleevue Farm and is the heart of the modern-day university farm. From this bustling center at the farm, research, education, and day-to-day operations are carried out. Several teaching areas are located in the building, including the Kutina Classroom, the Mather Teaching Lab, and a computer lab.

The Main Barn has been a constant source of diverse research projects through the years, many related to biology and conservation. In addition to multiple offices for faculty researchers, the barn contains two research labs. One of the labs was renovated in 2002 to serve as a resource for terrestrial plant ecology studies. The 450-square-foot area features a drying oven, muffle furnace, and pH meter. In the second lab, animal tissue research takes place by graduate and undergraduate faculty and students.

The farm administrative offices also are located on the second floor of the Main Barn.
