Black Greek Council

The Black Greek Council (BGC) is the governing organization of the nine historically Black Greek fraternities and sororities represented at Case Western Reserve University. Their history begins at Case with the founding of Alpha Kappa Alpha in 1913. Since that founding, the nine fraternities and sororities that make up BGC have proven themselves invaluable to the campus and the community. Their purpose is to promote and coordinate activities that assist member organizations in attaining their fraternal, educational, cultural, and social objectives.

Throughout the year, the Black Greek Council and its chapters work on various social, educational, and community service projects that benefit the campus and the surrounding communities. Some of the projects include:

  • Go to High School, Go to College
  • Guide Right
