365 Service Program Goals: Criteria Guidelines
Starting with the 2008-2009 school year, there will be a major change to the 365 Days of Service program from the Greek Life Office of Case Western Reserve University. In the past, the Greek Life Office has set a goal for each chapter to complete a certain number of service and philanthropy hours throughout the year and complete one full year's worth of service and philanthropy (365 days) across the community.
Starting in the 2008-2009 academic year, however, the goal will apply to service hours only. There will then be a separate goal per chapter also determined by the number of its members to raise through philanthropy events.
365 Days of Service
Only service hours will count toward this goal. These hours come from face-to-face volunteering, constructing items to donate, and other such events. The hour goal for each chapter is based on the distribution of 365 Days across the Greek community by chapter size.
Philanthropy Goals
The philanthropy goal will be a fixed amount for each chapter to try and achieve through their individual philanthropies as well as participating in other chapter events. This goal also will be determined by chapter size and the money goal will be directly correlated to money raised.
Please note that events will be judged on a case-by-case basis as to whether they qualify toward the philanthropy goal or the service goal.
Finally, please remember that the 365 Days of Service is a goal. Our community has been well respected for the effort given forth each year by Greeks to complete and often exceed the 365 Days of Service goal. With so many chapters easily completing their goals, it is time to take on a larger challenge.
