Cedar Residential College uses the arts to create a transformative experience for students to learn about themselves, each other, the CWRU campus and the greater Cleveland Community. An upperclass board of directors mentors first-year students and assists with the planning of fall events. First-year Cedar students are appointed to this board of directors in the spring of each year.
The Cedar Players are a group of students living in Cedar Residential College that perform and produce a series of full-length plays, one-act performances, and 24-hour plays throughout the semester. Alumni of Cedar Residential College also participate, bringing their talents to the group. The first play will be decided on during the first week of the academic year. Our first play of the year is during Family Weekend.
Production History
Residents of Cedar Residential College are encouraged to share their daily life experiences at CWRU with a panel of university administrators. This sharing takes place over special dinners in the fall and spring. As a result of these meetings, the Values Board created a statement on diversity that is posted throughout the Cedar buildings. It sets the tone for making Cedar a respectful, inclusive and just community — one where all people are valued.
