Commuter Initial Contact

Contact with the Assistant V.P for Judicial Affairs or designee, is a meeting in which first-time violations of community standards by a commuter student may be resolved. The meeting generally takes place between the Assistant V.P for Judicial Affairs or designee and the student allegedly involved in an incident. The Assistant V.P for Judicial Affairs, or designee, and the student will decide together how to resolve the situation and what appropriate sanctions, if any, will be applied. Sanctions that may be given include, but are not limited to the following: a warning, restitution, fines, educational project, service project, or referral. This initial contact meeting does not establish an official judicial record in the Office of Student Affairs.

Commuters involved in incidents which occur within a residential facility may be referred to the Residence Hall/Greek Life judicial process.

If the student contests his/her involvement in the incident and/or does not come to an agreement regarding the outcome of this meeting, the student can request a Commuter Administrative Hearing.
