Top 10 Reasons to get a Flu vaccine
  1. It is hard to get a 100% on a test when my temperature is over 100 degrees
  2. The only chills I like are from walking with my friends on a cold evening
  3. Reading is messy when my nose is running onto the page or onto my laptop
  4. I won't like the harsh stares from my classmates as I hack and cough my way through an exam
  5. Sweating from a fever will ruin my hairdo
  6. If I want muscle aches, I'd rather earn them by working out in Veale
  7. If I travel, I'll probably get stuck sitting next to a big guy with a cough or a little, snotty-nosed kid
  8. Fatigue….I do not want more of that!
  9. I need to be able to sleep well...when I can
  10. I love my grandmother and I do not want to get her sick over winter break!

Influenza is more serious than you think. About 36,000 people die from influenza each year, most of whom are over the age of 65. Children under the age of 2 years are more likely than older children to be hospitalized with influenza. Even young healthy people can become very ill with influenza.

Flu vaccines are still available in the University Health Service for $15 on Friday afternoons (call 368-2450 for an appointment) or you can get one at any of the major pharmacies.
