Cholera
Cholera is a bacterial infection that causes severe diarrhea and dehydration. It is present in Africa, Latin America and South Asia. Cholera is acquired primarily by ingesting contaminated food or water. Bottled water and beverages made with boiled water are the only safe drinks.

Cholera Vaccine
The cholera vaccine is only about 50% effective and is not usually recommended.
It consists of two doses, administered one week to one month apart. It is important to complete both doses one week to one month before you travel.
