Scheduling Online Appointments with Open Communicator

Online appointments allow you to schedule a visit with a nurse, clinician, or health care provider, anytime. To use this option, follow these instructions:

Step 1: Login to Open Communicator and click on the link to Appointments. You will be prompted to click on the button to Schedule an Appointment. Once you click on the Schedule button, a new page will appear. Those with urgent health concerns will be prompted to call the UHS phone number.

Students who wish to schedule a non-emergency appointment with Primary Care, Womens' Health, the Allergy Clinic, or Immunization Clinic can select their clinic choice and continue on to the next screen.

Visit Options

The screen for Visit Options allows you to select a reason for your visit. Once you select your visit option, choose Continue to move onto the next screen. Additional screens will appear and prompt you to make additional selections. You also will be prompted to enter a phone number where we can reach you.

On the next screen, you will be prompted to select a time for your appointment. You also will receive detail on location and staff information. If you don't find an available time that is suitable, you also have the option to call the Health Service staff or specify other appointment options. Click on Continue once you choose your selection.

After you click on the link to book your appointment, the date and time of your appointment will appear. You also have options to return to the previous page or cancel your appointment prior to booking. You may be asked to answer a few questions about your reason for a visit before you can book the appointment. If you decide that you don't want the appointment or need to reschedule, you can go back and change the appointment.

One day before your appointment, an e-mail reminder will be sent to your Case e-mail address.
