Q&A Top 5

What is your job? |
I am the Director of Residence Life. I'm responsible for providing vision, leadership, and direction for the comprehensive residence life program, including assessment and planning for staff and programs in our residence halls. I work collaboratively with the directors of Housing, Residence Life & Greek Life in determining the direction of the department in realizing our vision and goals. |
What other campus activities are you involved in? |
I am interested in higher education history in general, and the history of Case Western Reserve University is full of fascinating people, places, and stories. I enjoy learning more about our history, and exploring corners of the campus that quietly tell us about who we were and are. When you get a chance, visit University Archives or make an appointment to research a particular topic. If nothing else, in addition to making memories here, remember to record your experiences and keep them to reflect back upon in future years. |

What advice do you have for students on how to have a successful college experience? |
Focus on learning. That might sound obvious, but sometimes students get caught up in completing requirements or generating resume items instead of really learning from the incredibly rich experience we call college. Much of that learning will happen inside a classroom and be tied to a particular academic subject. But a lot of your learning will happen in other locations, and some of it will be learning about the world, about other people, or about yourself. |

What do you like about Case/Cleveland? |
This university and its surrounding environment are amazingly vibrant, just buzzing with ideas and culture and creative energy and talent and exciting endeavors and fascinating people. I did my undergraduate work here and took advantage of many of the resources, but didn't fully appreciate the uniqueness of University Circle until I left and lived other places.
Cleveland is a fiercely proud city, with lots of gems to discover and explore. Personally, I especially enjoy the historical sites and museums, restaurants, parks and Lake Erie, and our beloved Cleveland Browns. (Real fans have patience and love the Browns unconditionally.)
