Room Selection for Rising Second-Year Students

All full-time undergraduate students are required to live on campus and participate in a university meal plan for their first two years.

Only students who have received written permission from the Office of Housing, Residence Life & Greek Life to be released from the on-campus housing requirement may be excused from living on campus. This permission is granted to students who commute daily from the permanent residence of a parent or guardian within 40 miles of the university, or in other rare circumstances.

Because of this requirement, all current first-year students must participate in the room selection process or receive an exemption from housing. When you apply for a room, you are asked to complete and sign a Residence Hall Agreement for the entire academic year. Students who are required to live on campus but do not select a room during the room selection process will be notified and assigned a space after the room selection process is over.
