Room Selection for Upper-Class Students
Upper-class students are not required to live on campus. We encourage you to investigate off-campus living to see if it is the right option for you. You may also remain on campus in a Greek house or as part of the Upper-Class Experience Program.
Living off campus will result in a significant change in the need-based grant-in-aid portion of your financial aid package. While your cost-of-attendance budget will reflect the actual cost of living off campus, the need-based grant-in-aid portion of your financial aid package will be determined on the same basis as that of a commuter student. The difference between the off-campus and commuter budgets for a junior or senior who elects to live off campus for the 2009-2010 academic year is $8,300. A student may obtain funding from a parent or private loan for the additional amount. Please contact the Financial Aid Office to check on your financial aid package.
We have developed a cost-of-living calculator to help you accurately compare the costs of living on and off campus.
If you will not be living on campus for any reason, you do not have to participate in the room selection process. If you find that you need to move back on campus at a later date, you can submit an application at that time. If you are leaving the university, we only ask that you notify us so that we can update our records.
Transfer Students
Current students who have transferred to Case will be given an additional 2 semsters lived on-campus to recognize their time spent at another institution. This will be updated on your MyHousing account by February 16, 2009. If you have any questions, please contact us at housing@case.edu
