Residential Complexes for Second-Year Students

Second-year residential students have the opportunity to choose from housing options on both sides of campus. The buildings are primarily suite-style, allowing each student to live with a group of friends they have connected with in their first year to remain part of a larger community.

The complexes for second-year students include:

Second-Year Experience

Where are you going? What do you want to do? And how can we help you get there? Understanding that second-year students answer these questions as they build on the foundation from their first year, the Second-Year Residential Complexes focus on engaging residents in experiences that help them answer these questions. The complexes provide students with opportunities to explore different avenues for academic, leadership, and other skills, and support them as they define a personal vision for their undergraduate career.

Second-Year Residential Complex Staff

Coordinators of Second-Year Residential Education (SYCs) are live-in professionals with a master's degree in higher education, counseling, or a related field. Each SYC possesses a variety of academic and student life experiences and is responsible for supervising the staff and overseeing the entire complex.

Assistant Coordinators of Second-Year Residence Education (ASYCs) are graduate students who also live in the complex, provide support for the residents, and assist the coordinator with community development, on-call coverage, and supervising the staff.

Resident Assistants (RAs) are upperclass students who live in each building. The resident assistants plan social and academic programs for the residential complex. Each night, a resident assistant is on call to respond to interpersonal concerns, roommate issues, and serve as a support for residents.
