The majority of Case parents attend Parent Orientation; however, this program is not a requirement. Of course, we strongly encourage all parents to participate! It is an informative, fun, and interactive program.
Case invites you to participate in a dynamic schedule of informative and fun programs designed to address your questions and concerns. Parent Orientation is open to all families. All activities are free with the exception of some optional activities, including the Parents' Welcome Dinner and Lolly the Trolley city tour. This is an extremely exciting time for students and parents, and Case would like to make your transition process as comfortable and effortless as possible.
Both parents and students should dress casual for their summer orientation session. We encourage you to dress comfortably and wear appropriate walking shoes for all of the events, including the Parent Special Dinner on Day 1.
On-campus housing for parents is in the Village at 115, the new apartment-style housing for upperclass students. These buildings are all air conditioned and furnished with double beds. Each suite has between four and six rooms with one bathroom for every two or three rooms. Parents should have requested guest housing online; however, parents can also request housing during their Orientation Check-In. Space is limited.
Though we strongly encourage parents to discuss course selection with their students, parents are unable to attend their student's academic advising session during Case Orientation. Students are able to make changes to their schedule during Welcome Days when Drop/Add begins.
Yes. We encourage your entire family to attend Parent Orientation. Although events and topics are geared toward parents, many of our Parent Orientation programs can be enjoyed by the entire family.
Welcome Days events do not include events for parents. Parents are free to leave by the start of Welcome Days on Wednesday, August 19.
