Transfer Student Placement Exams
The Mathematics Placement Test is optional for transfer students who plan to register for either Math 121 or Math 125 at Case. This test must be taken online prior to your advising appointment with Dean Anderson. It is a timed 50-minute test and covers pre-calculus mathematics. No calculators or outside resources are permitted during the test. Results will be used during your advising opportunity for class placement if applicable.
The Modern Language Placement Test is optional for students who have taken coursework in French, German, or Spanish and intend to continue study in the language. This test must be taken online. The test takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. No outside resources are permitted during the test. Results will be used for placement in an appropriate language course during your advising appointment.
The Writing Diagnostic is required of all new students and will be used in your SAGES course. This test will take place during Transfer Orientation. Students will have 60 minutes to complete an essay on a given prompt.
