Case Gets WISER!
Sponsored by WISER (Women in Sciences and Engineering Roundtable) and the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, Case Gets WISER! is targeted specifically for incoming first-year women who are planning a career in science, technology, engineering, medicine, or math.
The goal of this venture is to support women in the sciences by building relationships among students, promoting WISER, and teaching leadership skills unique to women that are important in both college and the professional world.
Participants will explore the natural beauty of the Cuyahoga River Valley National Park, the only national park in Ohio and the third most visited national park in the country! Students will:
- kayak the upper Cuyahoga River
- bike the Towpath and explore the town of Peninsula
- hike through the Cuyahoga River Valley National Park
- participate in team-building and leadership training specifically focused on women in the sciences
In 2009, the fee to attend Case Gets WISER was $175, which covered the cost of transportation, food, and accommodations.
