Student Privacy

Securing a student's educational records is a top priority at Case. We recognize a parent's need to know about academic and disciplinary performance, yet we respect the need for privacy in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of a student's academic records. Case personnel have been trained to understand these guidelines in accordance with university policy:

  • Student education records are considered confidential and may not be released without the written consent of the student.
  • Case community members have a responsibility and obligation to protect student education records in their posession.
  • Access to student data is restricted to individuals who need this information for legitimate educational interest.

For more details about student consent and access to employment records, please visit our Academic Record Privacy guidelines.
