PARENT RESOURCES

Your New Student

College can be an emotional time for parents, as students embark on new life-changing experiences. Staying involved in your child's academic life is an important part of the process, as students make the transition from high school to adulthood.

Parents play an important role in helping their student grow up to be independent and successful. Here at Case, we encourage you to share ideas and participate in events that can help ease the transition for first-year students. We offer a variety of programs and resources designed to address questions and guide parents through the process.

Case employs a wide range of experienced staff members who work hard to make sure your student's academic career creates a positive opportunity for learning and personal growth. In addition to helping students, university counselors are also available to speak to parents who need encouragement or have questions about their student's well being.

Getting Started

All new undergraduate students are introduced to the Case community during orientation and Case Welcome Days events. During this time, students learn about our Share the Vision campaign, a Case tradition that began in 1990. A committee made up of faculty, staff, and students oversees the campaign, which promotes a just and humane campus, and supports the worth and dignity of each individual.

Case also hosts Parent Orientation seminars so parents can learn about the campus, interact with staff, and meet other parents. Parents can also attend workshops, tour Case facilities, or participate in excursions off campus.

Ongoing Events

One of the biggest events occurs in November during Fall Family Weekend. This offers parents a chance to visit Case, enjoy a wide range of community events, and meet university staff and faculty members.

We always encourage parents to stay connected by visiting our Student Affairs website. In addition, parents are always invited to visit the campus or participate in Case traditions such as Homecoming, Halloween at the Farm, Springfest and more. To learn more about ongoing events or important campus announcements, you can subscribe to any one of our mailing lists.
