Safety and Security

Maintaining the safety of our students is a top priority at Case. We are committed to educating your student and taking proactive steps to ensure awareness about our campus safety procedures and services.

Crime on campus happens at colleges and universities everywhere. But our mission is to take a more proactive approach and be on the alert in order to protect students, faculty, staff and visitors to Case. The Case campus is patrolled 24 hours a day by Case Security, the University Circle Police Department, and the Cleveland Police Department. The Case Office of Crime Prevention offers programs to help students protect their auto, bike, and personal property.

Safe Ride Program

In early 2009, Case introduced the Safe Ride program for students and staff who request escort services during evening hours. The program provides transportation in a specially marked security van around campus, as well as University Circle. The service is available from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m. daily.

To call for an escort, or in case you need help in an emergency, call 216.368.3333 or x3333 on any campus emergency phone.

CaseWARN System

In the event of a major campus emergency, Case will utilize a text and voice messaging alert called the CaseWARN System. Students can subscribe to this opt-in system and receive text alerts in the event of imminent danger or a serious threat to the campus community.   Please note students are able to list two numbers with the CaseWARN System, so parents have an opportunity to receive these messages as well.

Student Escort Service

Our student escort service is available around the clock, and either a student auxiliary or uniformed officer is available to walk students anywhere in the University Circle area. Our protective services team also provides security and crime prevention seminars to Case students, faculty and staff, including Rape Aggression Defense classes at least twice a year.

We're proud of our record on personal safety, and our patrol officers are diligent about keeping track of incidents and maintaining records of crimes and reported activities.
