Programs for Case Students
Case Ventures are programs offered to all current CWRU students. Participants have the opportunity to get out of the classroom and take part in the many adventures that Cleveland and neighboring areas have to offer. Among these ventures are opportunities to explore attractions such as Cedar Point, a Cleveland Indians game at Progressive Field or participate in a thrill-seeking skydiving trip.
Tickets to Cleveland Orchestra performances are available to Case students via a weekly drawing.
DUCES is an academic retention program for underrepresented students offered by the Office of Multicultural Affairs. The program is intended to help increase retention and overall academic performance of first- through third-year students by creating a support system that fosters personal, scholastic and professional development. DUCES offers participants individual/group support, academic support, peer and professional mentoring, leadership training, career planning and community service opportunities.
The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) gives the first year Case
student the opportunity to develop a foundation of leadership by providing
skills, knowledge and experiences essential for lifelong leadership engagement.
As a Case student, you can enjoy many of the cultural, scientific and educational attractions that are located near campus for free. The College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of Student Affairs are working together to provide students with free access to many of the area's most interesting museums and cultural institutions.
Student Affairs staff host a leadership conference each semester to
help develop leadership skills in college students who live in the Cleveland area. Sessions are available
for students with all levels of leadership experience.
The National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) at Case offers a five-week summer camp to over 570 economically disadvantaged greater Cleveland youth age 10 to 16. The program combines sports activities, education, nutrition and health services. All participants receive free physicals and free meals, both of which reinforce concepts of good health for life.
Case's Saturday College (SatCo) offers non-credit, no-tuition courses on several Saturdays throughout the academic year. Due to the
growth of the program, we also offer SatCo courses on Sundays. SatCo courses are open to all Case students, faculty, staff, and alumni as well as community members. There is also a Welcome Days SatCo in the summer for first-year students.
Share the Vision is designed to realize our vision of a just and humane campus community. It asks all members of the Case community to support the worth and dignity of each individual,
respect new ideas and enjoy our rich diversity. The program encourages us to strive for excellence and integrity in teaching, scholarship, research and service.
In addition, promoting justice and compassion is an integral part of our Share the Vision philosophy.
