- Fribley Commons
- Sears Building (Plain Dealer Electronic Learning Center)
- Thwing Center (Zone Two Cybercafé)

Can I print to printers in the libraries?
Although the university library system uses the same Xerox printing
equipment, they are not currently participating in the Print2Here program. You
can print to their printers from workstations in the library for $0.05 per page.
When are the printers available?
Printers located in residential commons are available 24 hours-a-day, 7
days-a-week for undergraduate students via card access. Printers in other locations are available whenever that
location is open to students.
Can the printers also make copies?
Although the printers are designed with a copy capability, we are unable to
allow copying at this time due to contractual restrictions from another vendor.
Print2Here privileges will be revoked for anyone attempting to make copies on
the machines.
Can I print to the printers from labs or public computers?
The following public computing locations operated by the Division of Student
Affairs are configured to print to the nearest Print2Here printer:
- Carlton Road Residence Kiosks -- Print2Carlton & Print2Fribley
- Commuter Lounge -- Print2Thwing
- Fribley Commons Computer Counter -- Print2Fribley & Print2Carlton
- Plain Dealer Electronic Learning Center -- Print2Sears
- The Village at 115 Computer Kiosks -- Print2Village & Print2Wade
- Thwing Center Zone Two Cybercafé -- Print2Thwing
- Wade Commons Computer Counter -- Print2Wade & Print2Village
Can I print to the printers over the wireless network?
Yes, but you must establish a VPN connection first. The campus firewall
blocks printing traffic from off-campus.
What paper sizes are available?
The printers are stocked with letter paper only.
Can the printers print in duplex mode?
No. The printers can print on one side of the paper only.
We recommend using "n-up" printing to
print multiple miniature pages on a single sheet of paper. Many
times, 2-up printing is sufficient for course notes or proofreading documents.
Are there any special printing features available?
No. In order to minimize breakdowns, the printers do not have any
special printing features installed.
What if I print a document and change my mind?
Documents are automatically deleted from the printer if they are not claimed
within two hours of printing.
Who is eligible for free printing credits?
Only registered undergraduate students are eligible for free printing each
semester.
Who pays for free printing credits?
Free printing is funded through a partnership with Housing, Residence Life &
Greek Life and Educational Services for Students. The program does not
receive financial support from tuition or technology fees.
How was the limit of 500 pages chosen?
We analyzed available usage data from the previous printing program. We found
that 500 pages would satisfy the printing needs of the vast majority of
students. We also found that many students that had printed more than 500 pages
in a semester had done so to print high-volume jobs such as manuals, signs, or
flyers.
We will continue to monitor usage and our budget to evaluate possible
adjustments to the quota in the future.
Do free printing credits carry over from one semester to another?
No. Free printing credits are reset each semester according to
this schedule.
Who do I contact if I have not received my free printing credit?
If the credit schedule indicates you should
already have received your free printing credit, contact the
Student Affairs
IT Operations Group for assistance.
What happens when my free printing credit is used up?
Once your free printing credit is used for a semester, printed pages will
automatically be charged to your CaseCash account. If you do not have CaseCash,
you will not be able to print.
Can I give my free printing credits to a friend?
No. Free printing is not transferrable.
How can I find out how many free pages I have remaining?
The card swipe device at each location will indicate your free printing or
CaseCash balance at the end of each transaction. To find your balance, just
swipe your card and press "Done". Your free printing credit is displayed on the
reader as a $25 declining balance account.
You can also check your balance using the
online card
office or using the value transfer stations in Thwing Center or Wade
commons.
Do I get charged for cover pages?
No. The printer does not charge for cover pages.
In order to save paper, we would prefer that cover pages were not printed.
They are disabled on the printer, but Windows driver re-enables the cover page
by default. You can disable the cover page in the
printing preferences.
Is my document secured when I print it?
By default, documents are not secured when they are printed, and anyone with
a CaseOneCard can release your job from the printer. If you wish to ensure
you are the only person that can release the job, you can use the
secure
printing feature in the print driver, which allows you to associate a PIN with
the document.
