What is Share the Vision?

When we think of what "Share the Vision" means at Case Western Reserve University, we often look to its history, its mission, and its values. The Share the Vision program — launched by the Division of Student Affairs in August 1990 — was designed to introduce new students to the shared values of our academic community and encourage Case students, faculty, and staff to work together toward the realization of a more just and humane world.

The Share the Vision Committee continues this tradition by planning and supporting programs and activities that promote dialogue and action.  To request Share the Vision funding, please use the on-line Share the Vision Event Sponsorship form.

The Share the Vision campaign promotes the concept of Case Western Reserve as an academic community that encourages inquiry, discourse, and action; a participatory community that invites participation in activities and projects beyond the classroom; and a campus that strives to be an active member of the larger Cleveland and world communities.

What does Share the Vision mean to you?

The Share the Vision program is based on five affirmations that have not changed since the campaign's inception. To realize our vision of a just and humane campus community, we strive to:

  • support the worth and dignity of each individual
  • respect new ideas and encourage examination and discussion of differing opinions
  • appreciate and enjoy our rich cultural, ethnic, and racial diversity
  • strive for excellence and integrity in teaching, scholarship, research, and service
  • promote justice and compassion on our campus and in our world
