Printing Services

Each computer managed by the IT Operations Group will be set up with access to the shared printers in the appropriate department or area.  Printers are automatically installed on each computer as you log in.  Therefore, if you have access to computers in different locations, you may see a different set of available printers in each place.

Standard Office Setup

We will work with a department in a typical shared office or corridor environment to establish the following recommended baseline for printing.  All users would share access to the equipment, which is sufficient for an office of up to about 20 users.

• High Volume Networked Printer/Copier/Fax (provided by our copy vendor)
• Networked Workgroup Laser Printer (optional, for special stock, and as a backup)
• Networked Workgroup Color Laser Printer (optional)

Additional Printers

Offices with multiple locations, or offices with lab facilities, would need additional capabilities.  Because different departments have different needs, the operations group can work with you to develop with a cost-effective solution to meet your needs.
